WINGARD NAMED GNAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK AGAIN
WINTHROP, Mass. – Emmanuel College senior outside hitter Barrett Wingard (York, Pa.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office this afternoon.
WINTHROP, Mass. – Emmanuel College senior outside hitter Barrett Wingard (York, Pa.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office this afternoon. This marks the second time this season Wingard has been honored as the GNAC Offensive Player of the Week, also earning the honor back on February 15.
Last week, Wingard powered the Saints to a 4-0 record at the Johnson & Wales University Invitational by averaging 3.67 kills per set over 12 total sets. The York, Pa. native registered double-digit kill totals in three of Emmanuel's matches including 13 kills against both Bard and New Jersey City. Wingard was also efficient from the floor, hitting a combined .372 while also notching 20 digs, 11 aces, five blocks, and four assist.
Through 19 matches, Wingard currently leads the Saints averaging 3.67 kills per set while ranking third overall in the GNAC. In conference play, Wingard currently ranks first in the GNAC averaging 4.11 kills per set and 9th in hitting percentage with a .353 clip.
