WINTHROP, Mass. – Emmanuel College freshman outside hitter Erik English (Simi Valley, Calif.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Volleyball Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office earlier this afternoon.
WINTHROP, Mass. – Emmanuel College freshman outside hitter Erik English (Simi Valley, Calif.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Volleyball Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office earlier this afternoon.
Last week, English combined for 25 kills over two matches for the Saints, averaging 3.13 kills per set. The rookie recorded 12 kills against MIT followed by 13 kills against Wentworth. English also notched 19 total digs including 10 against the Engineers for a double-double.
Over 14 matches, English ranks second on the Saints averaging 2.71 kills per set while ranking second on the squad in digs per set at 1.79.
Emmanuel is currently 7-8 on the year with a 1-4 mark in GNAC play. The Saints return to action this weekend at the Johnson & Wales University Invitational, playing four matches over the weekend against Bard, York, Lesley and New Jersey City.
