BOSTON, MASS. - The Emmanuel College men’s lacrosse team was able to clinch a playoff spot in their 20-1 victory against Albertus Magnus College, thanks to a complete team effort by the Saints, Friday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Roberto Clemente Field.

THE LEAD: The Emmanuel College men's lacrosse team was able to clinch a playoff spot in their 20-1 victory against Albertus Magnus College, thanks to a complete team effort by the Saints, Friday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Roberto Clemente Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints started the game on a 6-0 scoring run, two of which came from unassisted goals by junior midfielder Matt Katon (East Falmouth, Mass.) and one apiece by Ben Hartig-Orr (Reading, Vt.), Sam Ward (Hampstead, N.H.) and Jonathan Ahearn (Arlington, Mass.).
- The Falcons were able to score their only goal on the night in the second quarter as junior attack James May (Branford, Conn.) found the back of the net, assisted by Jordan Garguilo (West Haven, Conn.), 6-1.
- Emmanuel was able to close out the second half scoring five more goals, including goals by Charles Stutzenberger (Plymouth, Mass.) and Alex Flanagan (Westford, Mass.), to go into the break ahead 11-1.
- Senior attack Charlie Moran (Maitland, Fla.) led the way for the Saints in the third period, scoring three goals of his own while Stutzenberger also assisted on three goals, closing the quarter ahead 19-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Saints outshot the Falcons 52-25, won 16-24 face offs and collected 44 ground balls in comparison to Albertus' 23.
- Emmanuel goalie Austin Rosenberg stopped seven out of eight shots on net and recorded the win on the night.
- The Falcon's Jack Kerner dropped to 2-7 on the year, allowing 13 goals and collecting 12 saves on the evening.
- With the win, the Saints have clenched a spot in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference playoffs that will begin April 28th.

- Emmanuel will play their final regular reason game on Wednesday, April 25th on the road at GNAC rival Lasell College at 4PM.
- The Falcons are also on a few days break before playing their final regular season game on Wednesday, April 25th at Regis College in GNAC action at 4 PM.
