BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Trevor Craven has announced his staff for the 2018 campaign, welcoming several new members to the program. The Saints welcome new Assistant Coaches in Marcus Young, Rob Murray, Connor Murphy and Jackson Buss to the staff. Young will serve at the Defensive Coordinator, Murray the Offensive Coordinator, Murphy the Goalie Coach and Buss a volunteer assistant.
"We have a good experienced staff at multiple levels, both on the field and on the sidelines," said Craven. "This is the best staff ever assembled for the Men's Lacrosse program at Emmanuel and the players are really taking to the new coaching styles that this staff adds."
Young is a graduate of Syracuse University and has been working as an educator since 2000, most recently at the Winsor School, where he serves as the Director of Technology. For almost 20 years, Young has been coaching lacrosse year-round. In addition to serving as a men's assistant at Gordon College for three seasons, Young also served as the Boy's Varsity head coach at the Brookwood School for six years and as a head coach and associate director for NESLL club lacrosse. Murray graduated a member of the SNHU 100 Point Club.
Murphy graduated from Colgate University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies. While at Colgate, Murphy was a member of the varsity lacrosse team and a member of the winningest class in the program's history. His team's were there for the program's first NCAA Tournament 'At-Large' bid as well as the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament victory. He was also an All-New England Goalie for Middlesex High School.

He then attended the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he finished his Ph.D. from the Department of Biophysics and Biophysical Chemistry in 2013. He is also a member of the Emmanuel College faculty in the Biology Department.
"We're going to work hard this year to regain the foothold on the top of the GNAC after a down year while I was away," said Craven. "My goal is to compete again for a GNAC Championship and our players and staff are in tune to what the ultimate goals are for this program."
Craven and the Saints open the 2018 slate this Saturday afternoon when they head to Union, N.J. for a non-conference game against Kean University at 1:00 PM.
