BAGLIVI & CIBELLI HONORED BY NEILA

NEWTON, Mass. – Seniors Chris Baglivi (Mattituck, N.Y.) and Tony Cibelli (Westboro, Mass.) were both honored by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) this week, earning prestigious individual recognitions. Baglivi was selected to play in the NEILA East-West Senior All-Star Game while Cibelli was named to the NEILA Academic All-New England team for Division III.

BAGLIVI NAMED GNAC MEN’S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR; FIVE OTHERS EARN ALL-GNAC HONORS

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior defender Chris Baglivi (Mattituck, N.Y.) has been named the 2017 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning. Baglivi also earns First Team All-Conference honors along with fellow defender Brendan Gallagher (Solon, Ohio) and face-off specialist Michael Sousa (Cranston, R.I.). Senior attack Tony Cibelli (Westboro, Mass.) was tabbed to the GNAC Second Team while junior attack Charlie Moran (Maitland, Fla.) and senior short stick midfielder Sean Reilly (Deer Park, N.Y.) earn Third Team honors.

SAINTS DROP OVERTIME THRILLER IN GNAC TOURNAMENT PLAY TO NORWICH

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Freshman Connor Bourque (Goffstown, N.H.) of the Norwich University men’s lacrosse team scored the game-winning goal only 1:59 into overtime, lifting the Cadets to a 9-8 victory over Emmanuel (Mass.) College in the First Round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference playoffs.

MEN'S LACROSSE GNAC TOURNEY PREVIEW: #5 EMMANUEL VS. #4 NORWICH

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Emmanuel College men's lacrosse team has qualified for the upcoming Great Northeast Athletic Conference playoffs and will travel to Norwich University this Tuesday, May 2 at 7 p.m. in the GNAC First Round.

LASELL MEN’S LACROSSE CLINCHES GNAC TOP SEED WITH WIN OVER EMMANUEL

BOSTON, Mass. – The Lasell College men’s lacrosse team posted a 19-12 victory Tuesday evening over Emmanuel College to clinch the 2017 GNAC regular season title at Roberto Clemente Field. The Lasers avenge a 14-13 loss to the Saints in the 2016 GNAC tournament championship and stay perfect in conference play at 7-0 and improve to 10-3 overall on the year while the loss drops Emmanuel to 7-9 and 4-4 in the GNAC.

MEN'S LACROSSE SOARS PAST FALCONS, 20-4

New Haven, Conn. – Junior Charlie Moran (Maitland, Fla.) scored five first half goals to power Emmanuel College past Albertus Magnus College, 20-4, Friday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse action at Celentano Field. The Saints improve to 7-8 overall and 4-3 in the GNAC while the loss drops the Falcons to 3-10 and 0-6.

BIG FIRST QUARTER PROPELS MEN’S LACROSSE PAST RIVIER, 13-8

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College men’s lacrosse team scored eight first quarter goals and cruised to a 13-8 victory over Rivier University Tuesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Roberto Clemente Field. The Saints improve to 6-8 overall and 3-3 in the GNAC while the loss drops the Raiders to 7-6 and 2-3 in conference.

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Tony Cibelli (Westboro, Mass.) scored with 1:15 remaining in regulation and Emmanuel’s defense forced a turnover in the waning seconds of the contest as the Saints defeated Wentworth Institute of Technology, 11-10, in non-conference action Thursday night at Sweeney Field.

MORAN HAS CAREER NIGHT IN 18-5 WIN OVER ANNA MARIA

Paxton, Mass.—EC junior Charlie Moran (Maitland, Fla.) scored six goals to go along with three assists to power Emmaunel College past host Anna Maria College 18-5 on Tuesday evening at AMCAT field in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action. The nine total points for Moran is a new single-game Emmanuel record while his six goals also ties the single-game goals benchmark at EC.

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore middie Ben Farrell (Dowingtown, Pa.) scored five goals including the game-deciding tally to power Johnson & Wales University past Emmanuel College, 11-10, Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse action at Roberto Clemente Field. The Wildcats improve to 9-3 overall and 3-0 in GNAC play while the loss drops the Saints to 3-7 and 1-2.

ROSENBERG SHUTS DOWN MONKS IN 6-2 WIN FOR MEN’S LACROSSE

BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College junior goalie Austin Rosenberg (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) stopped 17 shots to shut down the Saint Joseph’s College offensive unit in a 6-2 Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory for EC on Tuesday evening at Roberto Clemente Field. The Saints improve to 3-6 overall and 1-1 in GNAC play while the loss moves the Monks to 3-5 and 1-1.

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Down by a 3-2 margin at halftime, the Norwich University men’s lacrosse team rattled off eight of the game’s final nine goals to capture a 10-4 victory over visiting Emmanuel (Mass.) College on Sunday at Sabine Field.

BIG THIRD QUARTER PROPELS MEN’S LACROSSE OVER UMASS DARTMOUTH, 13-9

BOSTON, Mass. – Trailing 6-3 at the half, Emmanuel College scored six unanswered goals in the third quarter en route to a 13-9 win over University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth on Tuesday evening in non-conference men’s lacrosse action at Roberto Clemente Field. The win lifts the Saints to 2-5 on the year while the Corsairs dip to 1-5 overall.

MIT HANGS ON FOR 16-10 WIN OVER MEN’S LACROSSE

BOSTON, Mass. – The Massachusetts Institute of Technology Men’s Lacrosse Team extended its win streak to three games with a 16-10 victory over Emmanuel College on Thursday night at Roberto Clemente Field. The Engineers were powered by four goals and two assists from senior attack Harris Stolzenberg (Weston, Fla.) and MIT improved to 4-2 on the season. The non-conference loss dropped the host Saints to 1-5 on the year.
