SAINTS WRAP REGULAR SEASON WITH 15-5 WIN OVER EAGLES
NASHUA, N.H. – The Emmanuel College Men’s Lacrosse Team completed the 2013 regular season with a 15-5 victory over Daniel Webster College on Saturday evening at Eagle Field. In a contest originally scheduled to be played as the first half of a men’s and women’s lacrosse double-header in Boston, the Saints improved to 6-9 overall and 4-5 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. With the win, the Saints have now clinched the 5th seed in the upcoming GNAC Tournament.

With the win, the Saints have now clinched the 5th seed in the upcoming GNAC Tournament.
Freshman Ryan Sabuda (Indianapolis, Ind.) paced Emmanuel with six points, coming off four goals and two assists, while sophomore Jake Jaskolski (St. Clair Shores, Mich.) added three goals and two assists. Freshman Justin Kelly (Collegeville, Pa.), C.J. Galdorisi (Northport, N.Y.), and Cameron Dillon (Braintree, Mass.) added two goals each for the Saints.
Sean Hamilton (Brookline, N.H.) and Anthony Cotoni (Groton, Mass.) each registered a pair of goals and assist for the Eagles (1-11, 0-9 GNAC). Dan Knupfer (Corfu, N.Y.) added a solo score.
Sophomore goalies Austin Lauzier (Bedford, N.H.) and Justin Byers (Indianapolis, Ind.) split the game in net for Emmanuel, combining for five saves in the win. Eagle starter and senior Tommy Driscoll (South Boston, Mass.) made five first half saves in his final collegiate game, finishing as the program's all-time leading goalkeeper in every statistical category between the pipes. Curtis Larade (Merrimack, N.H.) added six saves in relief over the second half.
The Saints never trailed in the contest, building a 3-0 lead out of the gate and led 5-1 after one, 9-2 at the half, and 14-3 after three. The Saints also finished with a 26-10 shots on goal advantage and added a 39-17 advantage in ground balls.
DWC bid farewell to its five seniors, including Driscoll, Bobby Loranger (Billerica, Mass.), Eric Mulford (Canton, Mass.), Sean Steadman (Woburn, Mass.), Dan Merkel (Bethlehem, Penn.), and K.J. Monahan (Nashua). Mulford retires as DWC's all-time leader in ground balls (150) while Merkel retires in sixth place (103).
The 5th-seeded Saints will now travel to Standish, Maine on Tuesday afternoon, April 23, to take on the fourth-seeded Monks of Saint Joseph's College in a GNAC Quarterfinal match-up. During the regular season, the Monks defeated the Saints, 5-4.
