THE LEAD: The Saints golf team finished in 11th place with a team total of 871 at the Elms College Blazer Invitational. Westfield State topped the field with a team score of 597 while Ryan Koczela of Westfield and Mike Strong of Springfield College shared medalist honors with a two-day total of 143 (-1).

Westfield State topped the field with a team score of 597 while Ryan Koczela of Westfield and Mike Strong of Springfield College shared medalist honors with a two-day total of 143 (-1).

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Emmanuel's sophomore Michael Mencio (Watertown, Conn.) led the Saints with a team low of 181 (93/88)
  • Senior Taylor Kieselback (Simsbury, Conn.) was close behind with a score of 188 with a pair of 94's.
  • Junior Jacson Mooers (Lincolnville, Maine) carded a 232 with rounds of 114 and 118.
  • Senior Zack Walters (Bedford, Mass.) rounded out the Saints squad with a 270 (138/132) in his collegiate debut.

WHAT'S NEXT?

  • EC will host the Saints Invitational on Thursday, October 10 at the South Shore Country Club in a quad match featuring Dean, Wentworth and Mitchell.
