SAINTS CHALLENGE COMPETITION AT TUFTS SNOWFLAKE CLASSIC
BOSTON, Mass. - The Emmanuel College Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field teams participated in their second meet of the season on Saturday at the Tufts Snowflake Classic. Multiple Saints competitors posted new career bests at the meet.

TOP FINISHERS
The Saints had five athletes earn top-ten finishes; Three on the women's side and two on the men's side.
The trio of Saints in the women's high jump all cleared high enough heights to place in the top six. Junior Ashley Brooks (Danvers, Mass.) took second place with a clearance of 4'8.25", while freshmen Devan Phillips (North Kingston, R.I.) and Angelica Czercowy (Hebron, Conn.) tied for sixth place with equal clearances of 4'6.50". Phillips' and Czercowy's scores were both personal bests.
Sophomore Francisco Tavares (Boston, Mass.) took fifth place in the 400m dash (52.74s), and junior Cameron Anderson (Watertown, Mass.) placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 39'10".
MEN'S RESULTS
Junior Ian Chamenko (Beacon Falls, Conn.) who set a school record last week, ran a personal best in the 1500m event in 4:17.84.
Sophomore thrower Constantino Politis (Saugus, Mass.) hit 101'4" in the javelin throw for a new career high.
Freshmen Daniel LaChance (Raynham, Mass.), Brandon Fitzpatrick (Tewsbury, Mass.), and Dillon Roche all set personal bests in their respective events. LaChance ran the 100m dash in 14.31 seconds, Fitzpatrick ran the 800m run in 2:35.87, and Roche reached 79'7" in the javelin throw.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
Three Saints freshmen ran the 110m hurdles faster than they ever have in their respective careers. Mary Nahorniak (Chicopee, Mass.) ran the race in 17.47s, Carly Jones (Lake Placid, N.Y.) posted a time of 18.97s, and Lauren Champigny (East Longmeadow, Mass.) clocked in at 19.12s.
Nahorniak also ran her fastest 200m dash ever, clocking in at 29 seconds even.
Junior Nicole Assetta (Manchester, N.H.) and Phillips each posted PBs in the 100m dash, running in 14.63s and 15.44s, respectively.
Assetta also competed in the 200m dash, running a personal best race of 30.30s. Phillips (13'5.50") and Czercowy (12'5.25") also earned personal best distances in the long jump.
Freshman Mimi Duncan (Portsmouth, N.H.) crossed the finish line of the 3000m run in 11:45.13, a new career-fastest.
In the 1500m run, senior Chloe Pangonis (Keene, N.H.) and freshman Katherine Holmberg (Easton, Mass.) both ran new career-bests, finishing in 5:07.49 and 5:29.09, respectively.
Freshman Jordyn Gonsor (Springfield, Mass.) (64.50s) and junior Micaela Fraccalossi (Plymouth, Mass.) (66.21s) posted career-bests in the 400m run.
Sophomore Nicole Varca (Wethersfield, Conn.) (2:39.30) and freshman Reilly Boyle (Wells, Maine) (2:35.69) ran the 800m event in personal record time for each of them.
TEAM RESULTS
In the team standings, the women finished 12th of 15 and the men finished 13th of 16.
