EMMANUEL WELL REPRESENTED ON GNAC ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

WINTHROP, Mass. - A total of 822 student-athletes have been named to the 2014-15 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference Team, as announced by GNAC Commissioner Joe Walsh earlier this week. Emmanuel College was well represented on the list with 109 representatives, a conference-best, making up 13.25% of the GNAC’s Academic All-Conference selections.

BROOKS, THOMAS REPRESENT SAINTS AT ECAC TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior Ryan Thomas (Wakefield, Mass.) and sophomore Ashley Brooks (Danvers, Mass.) represented Emmanuel College as the Saints’ two qualifiers for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Track & Field Championships this weekend. The ECACs were hosted by Springfield College at Blake Track & Field on Thursday and Friday afternoon and featured student-athletes from 97 different institutions.

13 SAINTS COMPETE IN NEW ENGLAND D3 TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS; BROOKS EARNS ALL-NEW ENGLAND HONORS

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Emmanuel College was well-represented at Division III New England Track & Field Championships this weekend. The Saints sent 13 previously qualified student-athletes to compete in the championships, hosted just across the Charles River by Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Friday and Saturday. Three EC student-athletes qualified and completed in individual events and three Emmanuel relay squads competed in their team relay events.

TRACK & FIELD WRAPS REGULAR SEASON AT REGIS PRIDE CLASSIC

WESTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Teams competed in their final meet of the regular season on Sunday afternoon at Regis College. It was a solid day all around for the Saints competing in Regis’ “Pride Classic,” as Emmanuel athletes came away with victories in three events, as well as 16 top-five finishes. Four EC performances qualified for post-season competition and one Saint set a new Emmanuel College program-record.

SAINTS EXCEL AT SEAN COLLIER INVITATIONAL

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Saints were honored to compete in the 2nd Annual Sean Collier Track & Field Invitational at Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Saturday morning. Competing in honor of the fallen MIT officer, the Saints excelled to 26 personal bests and a new program record, while four Emmanuel performances qualified for post-season championships.

SAINTS POST SOLID SHOWING AT SILFEN INVITATIONAL

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Saints Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Teams put together a solid showing on Saturday afternoon at Connecticut College’s Silfen Invitational. Emmanuel athletes turned in four championship qualifiers and seven top-eight finishes, while sophomore Ian Chamenko (Beacon Falls, Conn.) set a new program record.

TRACK & FIELD BATTLES WEATHER AT FITCHBURG STATE INVITATIONAL

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Emmanuel Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Teams competed in Fitchburg State University’s Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational on a very cold and windy Saturday afternoon. With winds at 23 mph and gusts up to 40 mph, the Saints struggled to achieve top performances. However, despite the unseasonably cold weather, several Emmanuel athletes hit their mark.

OUTDOOR TRACK OPENS SPRING SEASON WITH INDOOR MEET

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Emmanuel College Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Teams opened their spring season on Saturday at the Wesleyan University Invitational. Due to the lingering snow on the track at Wesleyan, the outdoor meet was forced indoors and hosted in the Cardinals’ Bacon Field House. The Saints faced both Division II and III competition and faired quite well in the first meet of the 2015 campaign.
