ALL-AMERICAN PERFORMANCE BY BRUNO IN TRACK & FIELD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

LA CROSSE, Wisc. – Nathan Bruno (Lenox, Mass.) made history on Saturday night in Wisconsin, when he became Emmanuel College’s first-ever student-athlete to earn All-American honors in Track & Field. Bruno raced to a 6th place finish in the men’s 400 meter hurdle finals at the NCAA Division III Track & Field National Championships, held at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.

HISTORIC DAY FOR SAINTS AS BRUNO ADVANCES TO NATIONAL FINALS

LA CROSSE, Wisc. – Emmanuel College junior Nathan Bruno (Lenox, Mass.) advanced in the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships on Thursday evening, when clinched one of the top spots in the men’s 400 meter hurdles. Bruno will compete on Saturday, May 25th, in the 400mH finals. This race will mark the first time an Emmanuel College student-athlete has competed for a national championship.

BRUNO HEADS TO WISCONSIN FOR NATIONAL TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Emmanuel College junior Nathan Bruno (Lenox, Mass.) is set to compete in the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships this week in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Bruno will represent the Saints as the College’s first-ever student-athlete to qualify for and compete in the national track & field championships. The University of Wisconsin – La Crosse will host the three-day championships at Roger Harring Stadium at the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.

SAINTS POST SIX ALL-ECAC PERFORMANCES

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Twelve student-athletes represented Emmanuel at the 2013 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Track & Field Championships. Springfield College played host to the two-day event at Blake Track. With a total of 1,400 student-athletes from 97 institutions competing, the Saints recorded six All-ECAC performances and three season-bests over the Thursday/Friday championships. The Bates College men and the Rowan College women captured the team titles.

TWELVE SAINTS SET TO COMPETE AT TRACK ECACS

Emmanuel College will send twelve student-athletes to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Track & Field Championships this Thursday and Friday. Springfield College will play host to this highly competitive two-day New England meet, beginning on May 16 at Blake Track in Springfield, Mass. Among the Saints qualified to compete are three individual athletes and three relay teams.

SAINTS ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT HOSTS ANNUAL AWARDS NIGHT

The Emmanuel College Athletic Department hosted its Annual Awards Night and Dessert Reception last weekend, celebrating the Saints success during the 2012-2013 athletic seasons. Student-athletes, coaches, supportive families and fans filled the gymnasium of Emmanuel's Jean Yawkey Center on Saturday evening, April 27th, for the annual athletic recognition night. The event featured award presentations by the head coaches of each of Emmanuel's varsity programs and spirit teams, as well as major award presentations by Saints staff and administrators. Emmanuel's food service division, Bon Appetit, provided a delectable buffet of dessert selections for all of the attendees.

BRUNO CAPTURES NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP; RANKS 1st NATIONALLY IN 400 METER HURDLES

WATERVILLE, Me. – Junior Nathan Bruno (Lenox,Mass.) made history on Saturday afternoon at Colby College, when he became Emmanuel College’s first student-athlete to win a New England Division III Track Championship. His incredible time in the 400 meter hurdles set a new championship meet record and Bruno is now ranked No. 1 in the country in his event.

EMMANUEL TRACK QUALIFIERS TO COMPETE IN NEW ENGLAND DIVISION III CHAMPIONSHIPS

Sixteen Emmanuel student-athletes have qualified for post-season competition in their respective track & field events. They are set to compete this weekend at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, which is the host site for the Men’s and Women’s New England Division III Championships. Competition kicks off on Thursday afternoon, May 2, and continues throughout the day on Saturday, May 4.

TRACK TEAMS WRAP REGULAR SEASON AT REGIS PRIDE INVITATIONAL

WESTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Teams competed in their final meet of the 2013 regular season on Sunday afternoon. The Saints traveled to Weston, Mass. for the Regis College Pride Invitational. Three new Emmanuel school records were set and the Saints posted three new championship qualifying times and four improvements on prior qualifiers. There were also six wins, sixteen top-three finishes and 36 personal records set on the day for Emmanuel athletes.

SAINTS POST SOLID SHOWING AT BROWN INVITATIONAL

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Emmanuel College Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Teams took on competitors from Division I, II and III colleges and universities at the Brown University Invitational meet on Saturday afternoon. The Saints were up to the challenge, as five new Emmanuel records were set and twenty-seven personal bests were recorded.

TRACK & FIELD TEAMS COMPETE AT FITCHBURG STATE INVITE

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Teams competed in Fitchburg State University’s Sheehan Memorial Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Despite the cold and windy conditions, the Saints made some great strides. Three different Emmanuel relay teams qualified for post-season championships, including an ECAC qualifying time for the men’s 4x400m squad. Twenty-seven personal records were set and one Emmanuel program record fell, while two individuals and one relay team took first place in their respective events.

SAINTS OPEN OUTDOOR SEASON AT MOUNT HOLYOKE INVITATIONAL

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Teams took a couple of weeks off from competition, while transitioning from the winter to the spring season. The Saints opened the outdoor season by competing in Mount Holyoke’s Spring Fling Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Emmanuel posted some incredible performances, including 10 top-three finishes, 25 personal bests and a new program record. Two EC student-athletes qualified for the ECAC Championships in just the first meet of the season.
